UK-based Capita Acquires Pervasive, An IT Solution Provider

UK-based Capita this week announced the acquisition of Pervasive, an IT solutions provider specialising in mobility and wireless networking services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Peter Hands, executive director, Capita IT Enterprise Services, said in a statement: “We are continuing to see a shift in working habits with the increased use of mobile devices, requiring flexible technology that enables employees to enhance productivity.”

And also added that: “Pervasive has a strong record of providing wireless networks to clients across multiple sectors, offering the agility to respond to changing customer requirements. The addition of Pervasive further enhances the range of services offered by our Technology Solutions division, which already offers clients expertise in information security, networking, unified communications, cabling and data management.”

Pervasive, which trades as Pervasive Networks and Beovax Computer Services, is an IT service provider catering mainly to higher education, local government and health sectors.

Capita said the deal will help bolster its position in those areas as well as in networking space. Under the deal, Pervasive will sit within Capita IT Enterprise Services and will become part of the company's Technology Solution division, and will focus on networking space and BYOD.
