New Relic, an application performance management software firm, has acquired Opsmatic, an early-stage startup with a cloud service for DevOps monitoring. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
San Francisco-based New Relic mostly focused on analytics side, monitoring application performance and providing developers with precise information about how well their applications are performing on real-time. Two years old Opsmatic takes a similar approach but its focus mostly on infrastructure side. With Opsmatic, developers and IT teams can get a precise real-time picture of how their infrastructure is configured and performed.
Lew Cirne, Founder and CEO, New Relic, said in a statement: “With this acquisition, New Relic gains Opsmatic’s powerful technology that monitors configuration changes at the infrastructure level”, “This is important, because we believe today’s successful software teams need real-time visibility into every component of their apps — from the infrastructure all the way up to the user experience.”
Launched in 2013 and founded by Jim Stoneham, Mikhail Panchenko and former Digg CEO Jay Adelson, Opsmatic is a cloud infrastructure monitoring firm that provide modern IT Ops teams with a precise, real-time picture of the detailed configuration of an enterprise’s computing infrastructure and an instantaneous feed of any changes being made. Backers include AME Cloud Ventures, Columbus Nova Technology Partners, Detroit Venture Partners, Ted Serbinski, Freestyle Capital, David Samuel, General Catalyst Partners, Illuminate Ventures, Cindy Padnos, Index Ventures, Slow Ventures, and Morado Venture Partners.
Founded in 2008 by Lew Cirne and based in San Francisco, California, New Relic is a publicly traded software analytics company that offers Application Performance Management for Cloud and Data Center deployed web application implemented in Ruby, Java, NET, Python, PHP, and Node.js.
