RhodeCode Buys Appenlight, An Application Performance Monitoring Provider

RhodeCode Inc., a Menlo Park and Berlin-based provider of a platform to manage and collaborate on source code, has acquired Appenlight, an application performance monitoring firm. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

The deal allows RhodeCode to strengthen its portfolio by extending its current development environment with data management technologies and application monitoring. The deal will enable customers to easily gather performance metrics and accelerate the development of their web applications.

Matthew Powell, CEO Rhodecode, said in a statement: "Acquiring Appenlight is a game changer for RhodeCode and our customers.  We can now deliver performance monitoring, real-time data analysis, and error alerts, so customers can optimize their application performance and service delivery. We will launch added applications on the Appenlight platform in the months to come." 

Marcin Lulek, Founder and Creator Appenlight, said in a statement: "The decision to join RhodeCode makes perfect sense. RhodeCode plans to integrate Appenlight’s technology into the company’s Enterprise solutions, providing its customers a powerful performance monitoring and reporting capabilities.

Founded by Marcin Lulek and based in San Francisco, California, Appenlight is a privately-held application performance monitoring company that provides helpful interface to let IT teams save time spent on debugging and reproducing issues from a production environment. Appenlight enables developers and IT teams to gather performance metrics and error reports from web applications. Appenlight has clients across a variety of industries- Gaming, financial services, retail and healthcare industry.

Founded in 2010 by Marcin Kuzminski and based in Berlin, Germany, RhodeCode is an enterprise software company that develops source code management solutions aimed at software developers and IT teams. The company’s Source Code Management (SCM) tool addresses security and manages multiple version repositories, including Git, Mercurial and Subversion. 

Currently, RhodeCode is a venture-backed company with offices in Berlin, Germany and Palo Alto, California. Its completed its Series A funding of $3.5 million in 2014. RhodeCode’s backers include Earlybird Venture Capital and DFJ Esprit.
