Technology giant Honeywell has agreed to acquire privately-held Satcom1, a leading provider of on board communications routing software and a satellite communications provider of airtime and consulting services, in a bid to boost its in-flight internet and air-time connectivity offerings. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The deal will enable Honeywell to offer operators seamless experience with an all-on-one connectivity solution spanning routing software, airtime, hardware equipment, avionics, flight support services and applications. The deal will also strengthen and broaden Honeywell’s presence in Europe and more easily expand Honeywell’s offerings in the market.
Denmark-based Satcom1 is a leading provider of routing software that optimizes the in-flight connectivity experience. Satcom1 provides all-in-one connectivity solution, in-flight airtime, spanning routing software, hardware equipments, flight support services, satellite communication services and software for business, private, and government aircraft. The company is also an existing distributor partner for Honeywell’s JetWave terminals and Inmarsat’s GX Aviation program.
