LinkedIn Acquires Recruiting Intelligence Platform Connectifier

The deal adds additional technology and capability to LinkedIn technology portfolio

LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network on the internet, has acquired Connectifier, a startup with technology for helping recruiters find talent. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

LinkedIn said in a statement: “The acquisition of Connectifier, announced this afternoon, will further strengthen our core products and accelerate our product roadmap, leveraging powerful machine learning-based searching and matching technology to help recruiters and hiring managers find the perfect talent fit.”

Founded by two ex-Googlers- former Google product manager John Jersin and former Google software engineer Ben McCann, Connectifier is a recruiting intelligence platform. It   helps recruiters discover, qualify, and connect with exceptional job candidates at roughly twice the rate of other solutions in the market. It built search technology that draws on artificial intelligence, and the search index contains profiles for more than 400 million job candidates. Its platform is deployed at nearly 25 percent of the Fortune 100 and thousands of other companies. 

The company is based in Costa Mesa, California and is backed by a group of world-class investors: Goldcrest Investments, K5 Ventures, Okapi Venture Capital, True Ventures, and Andrew Chen. It customers include Dropbox, eBay, Facebook, Netflix, PayPal, Salesforce, Twitter, and virtualization giant VMware.

Before its deal with LinkedIn, Connectifier has managed to raise $6 million in venture funding from notable investors.

The entire Connectifier team is not joining LinkedIn, according to a blog post from Connectifier CEO John Jersin.

The professional networking site has been on somewhat of an acquisition rampage over the last few months. The deal follows a string of LinkedIn acquisitions, which include predictive analytics startup Refresh and online recruiting company Careerify.

Founded in 2002 by Reid Hoffman and founding team members from online payment platform Paypal and Socialnet.com, LinkedIn is a business-oriental social networking service.The company is based in Mountain View, California, and has more than 7,600 full-time employees with offices in 30 cities around the world.
