The deal is the latest in Merkle’s series of planned acquisitions designed to boost Merkle’s presence in the global market.
Established in 2007, dbg is an independent marketing solutions agency that specializes in optimizing client data to make compelling connections to drive growth and improve marketing and business performance. It delivers expertise in database marketing, campaign management, and marketing automation to a wide range of European and international clients, which include VW Group, Renault, Ted Baker, Center Parcs, RBS and NowTV. In addition, it also has strategic partnerships with some of the top industry technology providers: Adobe, IBM Unica, RedPoint, SAS, Tealium, Apteco FastStats, Kitewheel, 3Radical, QlikView and Tableau.
Following the transaction, Dbg’s team of 140 experts will join Merkle’s Marketing Solutions Group, bringing Merkle’s total number of UK-based employees to more than 300 and more than 3,000 worldwide. The deal follows another acquisition, Merkle’s acquisition of London-based performance marketing and programmatic agency Periscopix.
David Williams, Merkle’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement:

Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, Merkle is a privately held performance marketing agency specializing in data-based marketing solutions. Merkle is the largest independent agency in the US for CRM, digital, and search.
