SAP Adds Advanced Analytics, Acquires Mobile Analytics Provider Roambi

Continuing its analytics play, SAP SE today announced plans to acquire the assets of Roambi, a San Diego-based mobile analytics provider. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
  
The announcement was jointly made at SAPInsider BI 2016 event in Las Vegas, and Spark Summit East in New York.So what makes Roambi so hot? Analytics are getting too much attention these days, it provides decision makers with key real-time intelligence. Not only Roambi offers a perfect front end for SAP’s analytics cloud, Roambi can also leverage enterprise data crunched on the SAP Hana platform and deliver an easy-to-use analytics solutions to mobile devices.

Founded in 2008 and based in San Diego, California, Roambi is a  mobile-centric analytics and data visualization solution that change raw business data into interactive graphics designed for mobile devices on the iOS platforms such as iPhone, iPad and iPad Mini. Roambi connect to popular information systems including Excelor, salesforce.com and business intelligence systems such as Cognos and corporate databases such as Microsoft SQL and Oracle. Roambi is currently used by over 20 percent of the Fortune 50 companies and has been downloaded more than 600,000 times. 

Steve Lucas, President of Digital Enterprise Platform at SAP, said in a statement:
