Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Resilient Systems is a privately-held security firm that offers an Incident Response Platform (IRP) that helps organizations prepare, assess, manage, and report on privacy breaches and security incidents.

John Bruce, Chairman, and CEO at Resilient Systems wrote in a blog post:
"Combining our knowledge and expertise with IBM is a perfect fit culturally and technologically," and also added this: "We’re already integrated with IBM QRadar and IBM App Exchange in production environments, and the opportunity to deepen that integration and extend it into other IBM technologies makes for a compelling solution for our joint customers."

IBM has launched a new service business called  IBM X-Force Incident Response Services, a new offering designed to help clients plan for, manage and respond to cyber attacks. This new service will rely on 3,000 consultants and security researchers to help companies "plan for, manage, and respond to cyber attacks." The new service will also include a remote incident response capability to help clients map how a breach occurred and take action to shut it down. Resilient's technology will help underpin this service, and will also be integrated with Big Blue's QRadar Security Intelligence Platform and other IBM’s security products.

IBM is currently beefing up its security portfolio and plans to offer analytics, prevention, detection and response technologies in one bundle. Last month, it acquired Truven Health Analytics, a leading provider of cloud-based healthcare data, analytics, and insights, to boost its Watson Health Platform.
